Bowhunter Of The Year!
IT’S TIME FOR 2009 NOMINATIONS
Each year members have a chance to nominate members for Bowhunter of the Year. Nominations are accepted in
three (3) categories: Male * Female * Youth. We have many members who are deserving of these awards and many
times we are just too busy to stop and nominate them. . . . . . and, let’s not forget our Youth. Listed below is the
selection criterion for the BSBA Bowhunter of the Year contest. Please review the criteria carefully and submit your
nominations.
Get those nominations in now while you are thinking about it.
Preliminary Requirements
1 Nomination must be from a member in good standing of the BSBA.
2. Nominee must be a member in good standing of the BSBA.
3. Nominee must have taken at least one (1) legal big game animal with bow in his/her bowhunting career.
4. Multiple nominations received for an individual will be compiled and submitted as one to the judges. Keep information brief and factual. Judges reserve the right to verify data.
5. ALL NOMINATIONS MUST BE DELIVERED OR POSTMARKED 15 DAYS PRIOR TO THE "SPRING FLING" BANQUET. NO LATE NOMINATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS FEBRUARY 12, 2010 Criteria to be considered:
I. Individual contributions to bowhunting in Louisiana.
Effectiveness and accomplishments while serving
bowhunting, archery, and the Bayou State Bowhunters
Association.
A. Educational clinics and seminars.
B. Literary contributions.
C. Programs or events developed and/or involved with.
D. Leadership abilities and special accomplishments.
E. Evidence of commitment and accomplishment.
II. Other Programs and Organizations
A. Supporting membership in bowhunting, archery,
wildlife and conservation organizations, etc.
1. How many (list organizations)?
2. Continuous membership?
3. How long?
4. Offices held?
5. Other evidence of commitment and
accomplishments?
B. Support of wildlife conservation programs, laws,
etc.
III. Sportsmanship and Personality.
A. Dedication to bowhunting responsibilities.
B. Conduct afield.
C. Peer Respect.
D. Number of years bowhunting.
IV. Individual contributions to bowhunting outside
Louisiana.
A. Educational clinics and seminars.
B. Literary contributions.
C. Programs/events developed and/or involved with.
D. Leadership abilities and special accomplishments.
E. Evidence of commitment and accomplishment.
V. Animals taken during bowhunting career.
A. Big game animals taken in Louisiana rate priority
consideration.
B. Big game animals taken outside Louisiana.
C. Small game animals taken.
D. Game farm types (exotics that are not classified as
protected game in the state taken will not be
considered).
