In early 1992, a group of dedicated bowhunters founded the Bayou State Bowhunters Association. These bowhunters felt that all Louisiana Bowhunters should join together to foster, expand, strengthen and develop the sport of bowhunting and bowfishing.

We become better financed and organized by enlisting your membership and support. In turn, we pledge to do our best to represent your rights and privileges. In addition, we ask you to spread the word to your Bowhunting friends and encourage them to join our effort.

Strength in numbers, that is how we will preserve the ancient and honorable sport of Bowhunting.

Your membership in the BSBA includes membership in the Louisiana Wildlife Federation, a subscription to Louisiana Out-Of-Doors and The Louisiana Bowhunter Magazine published quarterly for the purpose of keeping members up-to-date on bowhunting and "3-D" Tournament activities in the State. Bowhunting now faces its biggest challenge -- the survival of our sport. The anti-hunting and animal rights movements must be met head-on by better financed and better educated sportsman organizations in the State -- that organization is the -- BAYOU STATE BOWHUNTERS ASSOCIATION We become better financed and organized by enlisting your membership and support.
